Follow my blog with BloglovinI was not doing that much crochet the last week. But, I am glad that I was able to fix a necklace for some one. It was an old necklace, but it was her one of her favs. This time I remembered to take a picture.
Since the blog heading is Work in progress, there should be a project in progress right? The soft acrylic yarns were calling my name when I was in Walmart. Who could resist such pastel softy baby yarns?? Especially when they were on bit of the "sale" side!! So I picked three balls. Then, started working on this pale green, baby pink and white blanket Granny square it is...and going to be a baby blanket.(No, I am not pregnant.) I haven't made a blanket for a long time.Still don't know why am I making it. It is just a kind of "you have to do it"kind of project, you know?
Haven't just figured how to make a border for this one. Right now, it is just the feeling of soft yarn moving through the fingers and getting in to a granny square blanket....

Happy New Year everybody. December was very busy. The Christmas, the gifts, phone calls....and to make it worse, I got a craft block...I can't even believe it, I really got a craft block.
Good for me, I am coming out of it. Started crocheting yesterday. Made a few caps. Not so bad, I guess.
That one is really nice I guess. Because, when kiddoo saw it she wanted to wear it. Then the question is "Can I take it?" So she is going to have it. I am thinking of adding it to Bindu Designs as a "made to order" so that I can make one when someone needs one.
I made another black and white one, but a little different from the above one. Black and white is always classy and in style, right? The folded brim makes it better.

There is another cap made in green. It is finished but the picture is not taken yet. I needed to get nicer pictures to put them on the shop. I am going to add a bit of embellishments to the green cap.

I made a few things today. Few coasters and few flowers. I have a thing for the flowers. The crocheted flowers....I like them as they are...they can be good to make greeting cards...scrapbooking...just frame them...

After uploading the pictures, I played with the tools on picnic.com. That is where I got the think cloud on the above photo. Some more things I did with my flowers(ie.pictures)...

Here are some more flowers

Ha..it is not going to happen right? Today, Canada Post just deliverd a box of yummy yarns and threads for me.

Also, it is halloween...There is going to be a party in the condo building. Me and kiddoo agreed to volunteer to be at the candy counter. She became a soccer player and I love to be a cat...

It is a long time I didn't post anything in my blog. I was busy making things for my little shop on Etsy. There are many crocheted gift bags, and very few jewelry. Will Bindu Designs going to be successful in Etsy? I don't know. Anyway, i am going to try a bit more.
Today I added a set of coasters in my shop. Making up the pattern was the time consuming part. I am glad that I created a pattern for my flower coasters.
That being said, I can't resist to show of my flower coasters here

I am glad to show off some of the crocheted scarves I recently finished. Since the school is going to open soon, I must make some caps and mittens too.Even though kiddo is a teenager, I still can expect to "mom I think I lost my cap/mitten/scarf" in the morning when she is ready to run out. So, I am going to crochet more...just in case....
This green and pink is my favorite.I was having so much fun in making that.I tried the blue and white in the same pattern. It is smaller though. I just roll it up to view how the side looks.

Look how the edges look!!!They scarves are sitting side by side now.

I am so thrilled with the book, "Crochet! Techniques, Stitches, Patterns". I didn't finish the Eyelet Pyramid project. It is still a work in progress. But, I can't wait to start a scarf using the "Arcade Stitch" pattern.

The yarn is 100% mercerized cotton from Patons, Grace in Lavender.. The recommended hokk is 4mm. But I am using a 3mm hook. This is going to be a lovely scarf for sure.I hope to go yarn shopping soon. I have a gift card from Michael's to be used. Thnaks to Quin for such a lovely gift!!

I am working on a thread project. I hope, I will make a scarf.Since it is thread, the project is going slowly.

Sometimes, I may decide to add it as an applique on something. In either way, I still have to spend some time on it.
I found this pattern in the book, "Crochet! Techniques.Stitches.patterns" by Marie-Noelle Bayard.

There are many other yummy patterns I would love to try from this book. The author gives the number of stitches/multiples needed to make the foundation row. it is very helpful to make your project bigger or smaller. The instructions are clearly written. I found them easy to follow. I am going to start more projects during the week.

Haven't you ever wondered how to create a Crocheted bouquet of flowers to keep in a vase? I did. I was addicted to crocheting flowers. But the flowers I crocheted were good for applique only. I tried to attach them to pipe cleaner to put in a vase. but it didn't work.
So when I found some crocheted roses by the Crochet geek, I thought, I found a solution. I crocheted some roses using red and white yarns.
Then comes the tricky part of attaching the pipe cleaner to the flowers. It was not mentioned in her post. I bend the pipe cleaner and poked it through the flower. The pipe cleaner is visible on top of the flower

So while stitching the pipe cleaner to the crocheted flower, I used the same yarn to cover the top of it. I did this by going through the bend with the yarn needle while stitching it to the flower.

Finally I put them in one of my Sisal covered bottles.
