New choker

by Bindu 26. March 2010 21:13

I was looking for things because, I had no idea what I wanted to do today. Then I remember, I can really make a belt from men's tie. But I needed two ties which can be some what matching in color and design. My hubby don't use tie bow. So the old ties I kept were fine to use. But the problem is I can't find the two that I needed. Then this black silk  one jumped to me begging to get something done.

That is what I exactly did today. I cut the narrow end to fit around my beck.

I cut it in an angular way so I can make the ends look similar. To prevent the cut end from fraying I just stitched it with black thread. Then all I did was adding some sequins and beads. Then to get that extra punch, I added a rose flower, which happened to be in my craft box. Want to see the finished look? Here it is!!!

Crochet flower Greeting card and a simple earring.

by Bindu 22. March 2010 16:35

Sometimes things will get complicated. When you really wanted to send a greetings card for some one you really love, the store bought one is not enough. To me, I need to spend time and create one. That is what I did with this one. I can't resist the temptation to show it off in Bindu Blogs, you know.

The crochet flower and the leaves are perfect for this one.

What do you think? The gold color border is from the paper ribbon I kept for no particular reason. I loved the way the card turned out.

From that success, I decided to try a beaded earring. I got a new pair to go with my green T-shirt. Also, I made one for my daughter's friend. I will show the one I made for myself.

Crochet cushion cover

by Bindu 3. March 2010 19:19

I was just away from Bindu blogs. I want to show the cushion cover I made. Also want to share a tip about freezing potatoes.Remember the article about money saving freezer? I needed to mention that if you got a big bag of potatoes and want to freeze them you can do it. Just boil the potatoes. Remember to start with cold water. If you put the potatoes in boiling water the inside is not going to get cooked well. After that, cool them, peel them cube them and freeze them. Good to make mashed potatoes and soups!!!.

Here is a granny square I made in pale blue. It is used to made a crochet cushion front .

It is just very pale. But I am glad that my experiment is successful. I used a square cloth to make the back and hand sewed them together. I know, my cushion needs some good colorful friends to cheer up. May be I can add some flowers on them...
