I wanted some quick and easy crocheting projects for Bindu Blogs today to get the instant satisfaction. So I thought about crocheting flowers. I used to make flowers to stitch on the cushions and towels.
Today I was thinking of making a greetings card with crocheted flower and leaves. Made a flower using size 10 crochet cotton and 2 leaves. I stitch them together to form a single piece. Since the center shows a small round, I added a sequin and a small bead. Look at this!!!

The pattern is found on you tube. After making the leaves, I want to make some leaves in light green also.
After working with that one I got the idea to create another flower with Bernat cool Crochet yarn. I will write the pattern in some time later. Because, I haven't write it down properly yet. Here is the picture for you to view.
Hope, you liked the todays Bindu Blogs. Think of the pretty pink flower on a winter cap!!! Better yet on a brown T-shirt...My imaginations going wild!!!

I was thinking about starting a new and fast project crocheting project for today. The multicolor blanket is making me bored, even though it is really pretty to see. I always have this itch to do some thing new. May be it is not me alone. That may be the reason, many crocheters have several ongoing projects. Anyway, the ideas has changed after seeing the TTC chair Adam Giambrone's new you tube video on Breakfast television. I just saw Adam was shaking hands. It aroused my curiosity and I had to find out the video and the news. That is why Adam Giambrone got some space in Bindu Blogs, instead of crocheting or cooking.
Here we go with the interersting video.
I already added an entry in the blogger about him. The video is interesting. Yes, he is young and energetic. But he was not able to bring much changes to the TTC. May be his plans are going to work. There are many people against the LRT. Will the LRT do harm to the existing buildings? Is it going to worth the trouble? What are his plans for Toronto? We haven't heard anything yet. I am pretty much sure, Mr. Giambrone's young handsome face can bring some attention to the election. He is using the Face book and You tube for his campaign. Also he got a place here in Bindu Blogs too.
I will show my new crochet project later.

Another day of crocheting. That doesn't mean I didn't have some other simple pleasures!
I am a lover of hot chocolate, especially on a cold clouded day like today. A cup of hot chocolate, just sprinkled with a bit of cinnamon....It is my heavenly pleasure!!!

My daughter had to leave earlier than usual. Hubby was dropping her off at the school. That means an extra hour of silence at home with crocheting bliss. My MC blankie is getting bigger. I didn't take a picture of it yet.It will come to the Bindu Blogs later. I promise you. I was making more crochet hearts though. I love to make some more. But my mind wanders some time when I should be counting. So it takes many frustrating unraveling and redoing to make one big heart. My small hearts are easy though.
I hope to make some more before the valentines day. Hubby already wanted one for himself. If you are wondering about the pattern, it is in the new "Crochet Today" magazine. The pattern for small hearts, I found on the net some time before. I don't have the link now. Hope to post it in later Bindu Blogs.

I was just surfing on the net and found many crocheting blogs. I am amazed by the projects they are doing.Futuregirl, Attic 24, Crafty pants, Posie gets Cozy are some of the inspiring blogs for the Bindu Blogs.
I got the book Hooked On Jewelry from the library. The book is so delicious to look. After drooling over all the projects, I tried to make a tubular crochet earring. I can't figure out how to do it with the crochet thread and a steel hook. So I decided to make a bracelet with some beads from my stash. I happened to have some candy striped beads, which is easy to thread on a size 10 crochet thread. I did one line of beaded single crochet. It is too thin. So decided to make another strand of beaded crochet. Then make them connected with some of the findings.
I am happy with my final product.

I also made a necklace from the book. The book has a long necklace. I made a small one for the Bindu Blogs, because, to make longer one I need to buy more rings. For that I really have to go out to the mall. That means, I will end up in spending more time and money there. I better make some coffee and dream about my future projects.
Oops!! I almost forgot to put the necklace picture. Here it is!!

The pattern doesn't mention to connect the rings with jump rings. But I think, it must be connected with jump rings to make the chain lie flat on the neck. I need to adjust mine to make it flat.
Hooked on Jewelry has many interesting projects. Basic jewelry making skills are necessary to finish many projects. The project named "Victorian Elegance" is my dream project. It does not call for tubular crochet. So I hope to try it one day.

I was a little busy during the week. That is why the Bindu Blogs suffered. For some reason or other I had to go out. I have some crochet pictures to share with you. Today is dedicated for cooking.
My daughter like spaghetti and meatballs very much. I used to buy the spaghetti sauce to make her favorite dish. But not any more. I found out an easy way to make my own spaghetti sauce and meatballs. Kids of all ages like the spaghetti with meatballs topped with melting cheese on top. I love that too. Now I know, you want to know how I made my yummy meatballs!!. Yes, that is what I am going to do now.
I chopped 3 cloves of garlic, 2 green chillies and a small piece of ginger.

Then I chopped one big onion. Then I stir fired the onion, garlic and ginger for a few minutes to make it slightly tender.
I have my ground beef and canned tomato sauce ready to use.

When the onion is slightly cooled I added the ground beef. Of course, I like some herbs with it. I added some dried oregano, parsley, and bay leaves too. Then mix everything together. Ummm..don't forget to add the salt and pepper to taste. Don't use force to mix it. Just mix them gently. That is important. Otherwise the meatballs are going to get hardened. Now make small balls with your hand or use a spoon. I have the picture for that too!!

Now pour the can of tomato sauce to the pan and bring to a boil. You can add salt and herbs to the sauce according to your likes. I added some garlic powder. Add the meatballs and simmer covered for about 20 minutes.

Cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions. Now serve the spaghetti on the plate topped with meatballs in the sauce. Add the cheese on top of it. Now the delicious dish is ready to eat.
Hope you enjoy!!!

My title
I was trying to make a crocheted pattern from the latest Crochet Today magazine for the Bindu Blogs. It was going wrong for more than a couple of times. Today I was concentrating on the stitch counts while sitting alone. Finally, I can say that I got the heart right!!!

It is a bright January day. I will say, unusually bright. I actually went to the balcony to take this picture. It is sunny and the temperature is in the plus side a bit.The trees are bare against the wind. The ground is still covered in the snow. The sunlight is reflecting on the snow. It dared me to to go to the balcony with my camera without wearing the jacket. It gives the kind of a fairy land feeling. There is no one in the place...just the silence and the snow.

I am still working on my multi colored afghan. One row at a time! It will take some time to make it a big blanket. Each new color makes it looks different. To give me a break fro the blanket, I made a pair of crocheted earrings.

The pattern is from the book "Crochet Adorned" by Linda Permann.

The book gives many ideas to embellish an existing garment with crochet motifs. I would like to do more projects from the book. There are two more earring patterns. I like to make some flowers and stitch them on to my old t shirts to give them a new look.

Today I am showing crocheted placemats in the Bindu Blogs.I have some granny squares in my yarn stash. I made them a couple of months before. I connected 4 of them to make one placemat.See that one. The squared are joined with the same color as the final row. May be I can make a big square by continuing the granny square pattern.

Below is the granny square motif I started with. I like the shade of purple in this one. My daughter doesn't like purple. As a matter of fact she doesn't like pink either. So I just know one girl who doesn't like pink at all.

Today I found some more granny squares in the yarn box. Here we go with another place mat. The squares are joined with the black yarn. Then I did single crochet around it. I am proud to show of a small thing I made with my hands. Aren't they pretty?

The granny squares were made using the same pattern as my baby blanket mentioned on October 24, 2009 in Bindu Blogs.

Todays Bindu blogs is about the new crocheting project, the afghan I started a few weeks before. This is going to be mine. I am trying to use as much colors as possible in this one.

I use the shells made up of 5 double crochet to make this pattern. By using different colors in a random way, my yarn stash can be used up. Mainly the acrylic yarns are used for this project. The random colors is the beauty of the project. It can take some time to finish up, because I happened to see some flower motifs to stitch on my sweaters and T shirts. Here is another picture of my work in progress crochet afghan. Hope you enjoy!
See the width...It has to go a long way to get finished. We will show the progress of this crochet afghan through the Bindu Blogs.

Bok Choy is a leafy vegitable, available in the stores now. I did not have much idea of how to cook it. Since it is so cheap, I decided to check it out on the internet. A quick search in the Wikipedia gave me much information. It is a good vegetable, also known as Chinese Cabbage. It belongs to the Turnip species.
Wikipedia also has the nutrition information. It has Vitamin C, Calcium and Iron. Ok, I have to give it a try.
I decided to make a side dish for rice with Bok Choy. Since I never tried it before, I decided to mix with some of my trusted veggies. My family like carrots and the red lentil. We use to make it in different ways. I make red lentil and carrot soup. It is always a hit.
So, to test the Bok Choy, I decided to add grate one big carrot and added it with one big bunch of chopped Bok Choy. One main thing with Bok Choy is You really have to separate the stalks and wash them really well just before cooking. Then shake out the water nicely. I chopped one big onion and two cloves of garlic and a green chilly to add some heat to the dish. Then I add a pinch of tumeric and a pinch of cumin to give some flavor. I added a couple of handful of red lentil also. I like to add some desiccated unsweetened coconut to my dish. Add some salt in the middle of cooking. Remember to start cooking on medium heat and stir once it a while.

The carrots and the red lentils will add color to the dish. I like to add a teaspoon of oil as final touch.
